Not much longer than my stock sniper barrel, but shoots a hell of a lot faster and straighter...

5 out of 5 stars Nice upgrade   July 17, 2008

I ordered this barrel for my Tac 5 in June and WOW what a difference it made. Nice upgrade. It helps with accuracy and no matter if you have the Camo Tac 5 or the black Tac 54 it looks real cool. I recommend this to anyone trying to upgrade the JT Tac 5. It doesn't break your paintballs like the original barrel that comes with the marker.

5 out of 5 stars Great value and flat performer   January 15, 2008

I received the barrel a day earlier than expected and it was just as advertised. It was an Armanson brand barrel for JT as I had hoped it would be. Twisted out the sniper barrel, put this one on and watch shot after shot take a flat trajectory and hit in the same spot time after time, even with rapid fire. No lobbing, no curving, just straight, dead on shots. The barrel was missing the o-ring though. And paintball diameter is crucial. The brand I used I have discovered, aren't very consistent, some smaller, but most are a good fit. Even the smaller ones grouped together off on their own. You can expect tight groups at reasonable distances, providing you can actually shoot. The only other problem you might experience would be a paintball that is light on paint. The centrifugal force created by spinning it (like a football)can cause an imbalance or a "wobble" that may cause it to fly off in an unintended direction. So take it into consideration, then buy this barrel. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Definately worth the money.

3 out of 5 stars More accurate than the stock Tac-5 barrel, but was not rifled like advertised.   January 3, 2008

I mark this one down as it was not rifled at all (completely SMOOTH inside the barrel; no straight or spiral rifling). I demand the straight rifling for sniping/long-range shots since the local range doesn't have good cover from the start and I have to hang back usually. Maybe I was sent the wrong thing, but it was identical to this one with the exception of being rifled. I may still use it as a quick-change barrel if one of my others gets dirty during play...

5 out of 5 stars Excellent   December 3, 2006
John Rambo (Ohio USA)
this barrel is great
it adds alot of acuracy and range
it is all black and non-reflective
it is actually the armson barrel
it is e-z 2 take off and put on while under fire
when i got it it was alittle scratched up, but who cares?
if u get this then get an o ring 2 put on the threads so
it stays on better (it unscrews itself alittle)
hope this helped
