Exploded in my face... August 26, 2010 E. Jarett Branch (Arizona, USA) I had this sight for a few months. I tried it out on an AK-101 type Saiga 7.62x39 using a standard AK type side mount that came up over the top of the dust cover with a weaver mount. I put the NcSTAR red dot on there, and it fit nice and snug. However, things got bad when I took it out shooting. I heard this is a cheap knock-off only made for airsoft guns, but NcSTAR and it's advertisements online claim it is the real deal for real firearms (however doesn't say up to what caliber it can be used). So I gave it a go, and popped some rounds off. Every 3rd shot or so I saw the reticle jump across the glass from the middle to way far to the bottom, or way far to the top, or over to the side, etc. The recoil would throw off the sight everytime I reset it. I figured maybe the 7.62x39 rounds were too powerful, so I tried it on an M4 style CMMG AR-15. It co-witnessed with the flip-up sights perfectly, and I was excited about this! I took it to the local indoor range to try to sight it in for a permanent optic solution, and was completely shocked once I realized after shooting a full magazine the sight was jumping all over the place and constantly losing zero. I reset it a few times and kept firing. On the third magazine, I fired and saw smoke and glass fly out at my face. The glass completely popped out of the sight mount and whatnot right into my face as I was going through a mag. Luckily I was wearing safety goggles. I popped the glass back in later that day, and I don't know if the glue is just bad, or this thing was never meant for real guns. Anyways, I wish I could get a refund... or at least would have bought a real sight for real guns.
works great for the price August 24, 2010 CD Bought this sight for my Stag M4 flat top. Put a medium riser on and this reflex sight on top of that. It zeroed in 6 rounds and held it for 90rnds of cheap Russian 55gr ammo. It works great for the price. I probably will not use it operationally but for fun at the range it worked fine. I would recommend to anyone who doesn't want to spend a ton of money but want a reflex sight for their rifle. However like I said, I wouldn't carry it on my weapon at work; it just doesn't seem to be sturdy enough to take daily carry use.
good value for the price August 19, 2010 Goodie Nice sight with a nice large optic. I have this mounted on my AR-15 and it hits dead on at 25 and 50 yards. At 100 yards it produces a nice tight spread but not quite as accurate at 50 yards. I was impressed with the quality of the product for the price.
Other optics might be better, but then again they cost a lot more.
Good, but there is better August 1, 2010 --- Overall, this sight is well worth its money, however, there is a box the reticle must stay in or it will disappear--pretty annoying. Also, the reticles are a bit big and the circle+crosshair one is just a big red blur (but the circle reticle and dot reticle are nice). My suggestion: If you have the money, get a eotech replica, if you don't, definitely choose this.
Wish I saved my cash July 15, 2010 RealDeal99 This product is what it is, a cheap sight. It lights up and it works and comes in nice packaging giving the illusion of quality, but you have to remember it is a 30 dollar sight. Two of the 4 reticules are useless because the sight is crooked (crosshairs) so the only useable ones are the dot and the donut. Again sometimes you get a great deal for your money, this really isnt one them. Id have been happier going with something more expensive, but i took a chance... glad i only wasted 30 bucks.
